Kung FUN! is a practice that uses traditional Kung Fu, Tai Ji Quan and Qi Gong concepts of presence, movement and organization to create a powerful state of joyful presence, body disponibility and inner freedom from which we move, travel and meet into Contact Improvisation.

The practice has 4 main Pillars:

1- Wellbeing and health:
we practice to reconnect with our complete physical structure, exploring it tridimensionally to recognise it and integrate it.

2- Freedom, Integrity and empowerment:
Using our intention and ability to change and reorganise we learn to experience freedom, intengrity and empowerment through movement and decisions.

3- Creativity and expression:
Recognizing movement as a creative action and way of expressing, we allow ourself to explore without knowing the outcome while being present and aware to keep taking care of us and others.

4- Relating, Caring and Cooperation:
We ask questions to ourselves. How to listening, observe and respect. How to create connection without words and how to keep ourselves sensitives to feel the other´s freedom. How to keep building our integrity as we listen and adapt at every moment while in touch. How to feel safe with the unknown and not having control without cutting the flow.

The Workshop is led by Gonzalo Barales, an Argentinian dancer, martial artist, and movement researcher. With 23 years of martial arts training and 11 years of exploration in contemporary dance and contact improvisation, Gonzalo is deeply passionate about researching movement relations and concepts to develope a joyful, safe and creative exploration state, making knowledge and freedom more accesible to everyone from a very close source, our presence and movement.
